This on-demand session prepares surgical nurses to provide effective post-operative wound and ostomy care for pediatric patients. Participants will review best practices for managing enterostomal care, selecting and applying wound dressings, and recognizing potential post-operative complications. Real-world case studies will reinforce key concepts and enhance clinical decision-making.

Danielle Buker, RN, BSN, CWOCN graduated from Capital University with her BSN and started as a bedside nurse on the Burn/Ortho/Trauma unit at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in 2005. Danielle became a certified Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nurse in 2014. She is currently part of a six-person team at NCH caring for complex wound and ostomy patients along with patients who have basic incontinence issues. Their group works closely with our Pediatric Surgery, Colorectal, Plastic Surgery and Cardiothoracic Teams closely to provide in-patient and outpatient care.
